What does it mean to be an Adventist?
When Jesus lived on this Earth, He was our perfect example of what it means to be a godly person. He tended to the needs of those around Him. He ate with the sinners and loved the outcasts. Instead of forcing religion on them, He lovingly led them to God. He didn’t condemn.
And that is what we believe we are called to do: lovingly lead people to God.
Seventh-day Adventism is a Bible-based, Protestant denomination that began in the United States in the late 1800s. Today it has 21 million members around the world, as well as hospital systems, school systems, medical schools, relief and outreach ministries, missionary programs and more.
Each of Adventism’s core beliefs are firmly founded in Scripture. Adventists seek to live a Christ-like life, growing closer to God every day. It is God’s wish that everyone join Him in Heaven, and as Adventists, we strive to be an active part of completing the Great Commission:
“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
– Matthew 28:19, 20
Spreading the Good News to all the nations is what drives Adventists. Through our ministries, we hope to expand the Kingdom of God.
