AskAnAdventistFriend.com was launched in 2019 as an information resource developed by Center for Online Evangelism (COE), a supporting ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Our mission is to provide in-depth, helpful, Bible-based content to the commonly-asked spiritual questions of everyday people. To do so, we hold our editorial team to high standards of quality, integrity, and theological accuracy.
Our writers
Our team of writers are all active Seventh-day Adventists in good standing with the denomination. Each of them are college-educated and represent a variety of professional editorial backgrounds.
To protect the privacy of our writers, we do not list their names. This also helps us emphasize collective ministry over individual voice and to ensure consistency and accountability.
Each of our pages, from start to finish, represents a collaborative team effort, rather than the thoughts of one individual. This also serves as a system of checks and balances, helping us guard against personal bias.
“…but in an abundance of counselors there is safety” (Proverbs 11:14, ESV).
Our experts
To ensure that we provide the most accurate, thorough information as possible, we adhere to an extensive research process and consult credentialed subject matter experts in the fields of theology, ministry, counseling, health and wellness, and other related subject areas.
Aside from consulting outside professionals, COE has two in-house subject matter experts and a partner organization who regularly provide support for the writers and review articles before publishing.
Meet our reviewers:

Editorial standards for faith-based and journalistic integrity
We expect our writers to:
- Uplift biblical principles first and foremost, and (within the Christian belief system of Seventh-day Adventism) to refrain from appearing to either endorse or eschew anything in the areas of commerce, politics, trends, etc., unless an explicit biblical principle is clearly involved
- Approach each topic with Christ-like love, compassion, and empathy for our readers
- Actively nurture their own personal relationships with Jesus Christ
- Remain in good standing with the Seventh-day Adventist denomination
- Do thorough research using reputable sources
- Verify the accuracy of their work, including that of any claims made by cited sources and official documentation
- Be able to provide the original content of their cited sources to our editors or experts, should a review of the information be needed
- Submit articles to be reviewed by an editor and subject matter expert before publication for clarity, accuracy, grammar, consistency, and adherence to our editorial standards
- Never plagiarize, and never gather or publish privileged information without clear permission
- Properly differentiate between fact, theory, opinion, and belief
- Remain as balanced and unbiased as is reasonably possible, and to refrain from allowing individual preference, interest, or agenda to affect the focus or intent of their writing assignments
- Not to accept payment, gifts, or special treatment from any outside entity in exchange for favorable representation within our site’s content
- Periodically review published content and update it when information becomes outdated or no longer reflects current best practices
- Clearly identify sponsored content, affiliate relationships, or conflicts of interest when applicable
- Present topics fairly with balanced coverage, acknowledging multiple perspectives where appropriate and avoiding misleading omissions
AI Policy

Phot by Matheus Bertelli
Our writers do not use generative AI to create written content for any of the articles on AskAnAdventistFriend.com. We do not believe that a machine (regardless of how extensively it is “trained”) can fully capture the nuance involved in producing spiritual content.
Since the beginning, God has chosen human beings, even in our fallen state, to share the Gospel message and reflect His character to the world. So we intend to continue this calling (Matthew 28:19-20) with sincerity, conviction, and a whole lot of prayer.
We do allow our writers to conscientiously use generative AI to assist with non-writing tasks, such as brainstorming and organizing data.
Many AskAnAdventistFriend.com pages are translated from English into Spanish, Portuguese, and Kiswahili. The translation process is AI-assisted, but the content is then edited by multi-lingual human beings who are native speakers of the translated language.
We hope you find our content helpful. Feel free to contact us if you have a question, or if you would like to submit an article suggestion.
